About me

Two of my favourite things to do are cook because I love to eat, and photography because it gets me outside doing what I love to do, hike, canoe and explore with my husband and family. When I first thought about putting a recipe book together my original intent was a blend of our favourite recipes with my most memorable photos as a keepsake for my boys...then I started putting together the recipes and realized there may have to be another book, as I don't want to leave anything out. Hence this blog:)

For those that know me, you know I cook out of necessity so my family doesn't starve. I bake because i LOVE LOVE LOVE to bake....If only one could survive on dessert!

The original cookbook came out a few years back called Master Bakers family favourites.

These are recipes my boys phone home for, where ever they may be at that moment and ask me for.

Books

Healthy Starts Here - Marilyn Smith

Missing Goat Farm - Heather Cameron

Groceries

Hopcott Meat local raised and butchered, hormone free, so good.

Cranberries Naturally....dried cranberries (I love the ones infused with orange flavour, as well as their Cranberry Jalapeno Jelly (hit with the guys)

Restaurants

Wendels Bookstore and Cafe in Fort Langley - a unique cafe/bookstore to pop in to while exploring Fort Langley. Coffee, Dessert, great healthy delicious food. Have been known to have their coconut Cream Pie for lunch....and worth the wait if you come at a busy time:)

Track Bistro Granville Island - Husband hates crowds and busy places. This Little Bistro is a gem, just enough out of the way we feel like its is an oasis in the city. Delicious Coffee, Desserts, and locally made salads and food made with love and a touch of artistry. You stomach and eyes will not be disappointed.

Edible - Granville Island- This place is always packed, so I pop in here when we occasionally can find a lull. Once again a delete for both your stomach and eyes. Have only had their coffee and Salad but So worth every penny.
